    spark plugs

I bought a 1999 225 ho carburetor it is on a 1996 javelin 400se, I wont to put spark plugs in the motor I have BUHXW-1 NGK in it now. I think champion QL78YC is supposed to be the motor. But I was told the champion QL78YC was not hot enough any suggestions

    Re: spark plugs (dovejrricky)

Hi there, I have the same motor 1999 Johnson 225 HO .... I have the
QL78YC spark plugs in it and it runs like a Champ. Mine has been tweeked a bit by Evolution Marine back in the day with different heads and reeds. I run High Octane gas and like I said it runs perfectly. You won't be disappointed with the performance.

I'm sure the experts will respond but I would stick with what the factory suggests.

and where did you hear that?

why did you put a non-recommeded plug in your motor in the first place?

Keep running the NGK's in that HO and it will be you used to have a 99 carburated 225 HO.
