Use leftover sweet cornbread in a glass of milk for breakfast or just a sweet snack. We put molasses or honey in it also.

    Re: sweet cornbread (Jigsisme)

SWEET CORN BREAD You yanks like sugar in everything but tea Of course for a good desert we like Southern corn bread (that's corn bread without flour and sugar in it) fresh out of the oven, cut in half put lots of cow butter in between the two halves, let the butter melt then top with maple syrup ( that's Yank Syrup) or honey or maybe some Yellow Label syrup that from the south The wife did make corn bread with sugar in when we got married about 40 years ago but got her to make without the sugar for me, we just like it without sugar with my peas, green and beans, also hard to beat in vet. soup.

#1 I am not a Yank. I might live here but I am from somewhere where sweet tea is water and corn bread is made in a cast iron skillet. #2 this was a request for "sweet cornbread". There is definitely a difference. So for your it worked!!!

    Re: sweet cornbread (Jigsisme)

True "Sweet Corn Bread" should have no Sugar added to it.

Its actually a very old recipe.

Instead of adding milk/water.....add Cream, buttermilk or half and half. Also....add Sour cream instead of Butter.......but adding Sweet Corn to the mix/meal was used instead of Feed Corn. Old farmers wives used to use early-pulled Feed corn a lot for Food & in Recipes.......sounds gross but when mixed in with other stuff it just adds texture.

thats is only thing I know of that made the true Difference in Cornbread's. All other things are jsut variations of it.......all still good BTW.....but variations.
