    Battery Fill

Someone on here probably has much better ideas...but I was trying to find something I could use to top off battery water levels....in those hard to reach places. Funnels don't always fit, they blind you so that you can't tell when it's getting full and overflow, etc, etc.

So....I was looking for something that would work for that application and ran across cheap mustard and ketchup plastic bottles with a nice needle nose and cap. Unscrew the lid, fill with DI water, and fill the battery cells - even in tight places.

Just about everyone has the same problem.... LOL.... I use an old lower unit pump attached to a soda bottle.... Fill it with distilled water and presto..... Sorry for the crappy cellphone pic.

That's exactly what I was looking for when I found the Ketchup/mustard bottles!

George..now that looks just right! I like that with the tubing because you can snake into those hard to reach places. Guess I need to buy a lower unit pump!

    Re: Battery Fill (Culln5)

On my old boat I had enough room to fill with an old water bottle with a "sports nozzle". I don't have that luxury on my current Nitro 591. In fact I can barely reach the front battery. Now, I use a funnel with a long (approx. 18") tube that I got at probably Auto Zone or someplace like that. I hold the funnel with the tube in the proper battery cell and then slowly feed the distilled water until the cell is filled.
    Don't worry Ma'am....
    I'm only here for the

I use a large turkey baster, suck the distilled water right out of the bottle.

You can find the pumps at any auto parts store, like Advance Auto or NAPA.

Try the auto fill system sold at BPS, I have used this system for a few years, much easier and worth the $$
