    Chest of Drawers/ Rod Rack

I was thinking of making a Rod Rack out of a chest of drawers. Put rods along outside edge and tackle in the drawers. I remember seeing a tip on here a while back of where you can find the clips with the rubber insert that would hold the rods on the rack. I could not find it through a search. Perhaps someone could repost a link to it. Thanks,

Re: Chest of Drawers/ Rod Rack (schoolies)

    Schooles,
Just get some packing foam (similar to the foam used in the rod organizer article just above this). Cut it in lengths to fit your needs and a square of approx 1 1/2 to 2". Attach it to the chest and cut slits in it every couple of inches or so but only aprox 1/2 the way through. then press the rods in.
This stuff can also be attached to garage walls, between 2 X 4 studs etc.

Re: Chest of Drawers/ Rod Rack (RDB)

Well I had this in mind. Only I was going to find a decent chest of drawers at a G sale and refinish it. Problem is I can't find those small clips to snap in the rod.

That would be great if so. I would need 15 of them. I plan on putting 5 rods per side of the chest.

Let me know how much you want for them.

    Thanks Earl,

Re: Chest of Drawers/ Rod Rack (schoolies)

give me a couple of days to try and find them, I know I don't have enough for 15 rods, Berkley use to make them. If I find them you can have them for the price of shipping, which shouldn't be very much....

The "noodles" for a backyard pool hold nicely with slits cut in them and you can pretty much have any color you want.
