    Etched Aluminum Repair

I tried a new tire cleaner the other day and it managed to run down on my aluminum wheels etching them badly in a few places

Here is a cheap... not labor intensive repair that works awesome!

Go buy very fine "OOO" Steel Wool and a can of WD40. Make sure you use very fine "OOO"

Spray the WD40 on the steel wool and rub lightly. You will be amazed how easily it shines the aluminum taking away the etching. I cleaned all 4 wheels in less than an hour. Wipe them down and then give a coat of good polish or wax to protect them. They look better than new!!

    Hope this helps someone!

This works as well on aluminum boats. Ive seen some posts in the past about guys using it to clean their tin boats so I gave it a try. Literally takes the shine down to the alum. and then you wash it off, dry, and use some polish (i used the blue one). Works wonders, but takes a long time to polish.
