My parents have a aluminum bass boat, They leave it in the water all summer so, when they take it out it is a mess. Any ideas on how to clean it for them?

A company in Kalamazoo, MI sells a product called AllumaKleen. You can find it on http://www.biokleen.com
when my dad had a tracker a few years ago, he was told by the place he bought it that they used wd-40 and an extra-fine steel wool pad to shine it up

I reject your reality and substitute my own!
Don't know about aluminum boats, but I spray my jackplate and other bare aluminum items with Eagle One Etching Wheel Cleaner. Just make sure that the metal is not clear-coated. You can find it at Autozone. It comes out bright and new with just a washdown...might work and its defintiely fast and cheap.
Got this idea from BBC about two years ago.![]()

I have only found one way to clean a tin boat and that is Brillo pads and alot of elbow grease. I have tried everything else and I am convinced that this is the only good way.
We used to use white vinegar.![]()
Keep those ideas coming. My old Tracker spent a lot of time in Florida waters in it's former life... and it shows. Now that it's in Michigan I sure would like to get the stain off the hull.

New record!! Caught several bass on December 31st. In Michigan! From my boat!
I use Simple Green diluted with water and a scrub brush, looks like new when done!
Good Luck.![]()
The allumakleen comes with a 30 money back guarantee. If it does not work, send the unused portion back to the company and they will refund your $.

alllllumakleen works great, but spray from the bottom up or it will streak. don't know why but it does.
Try muriatic acid - found at paint and hardware stores. Dilute it 10:1 with water and put on some thick gloves. use a plastic brush and wash it down (outside)
then rinse with cold water.
This is for the oxidation. it will not cut the grime. For that, use simple green and a scrub brush. that works great.
a buffer and a lot of elbow grease.....my brother has to do his a ot but its a polished boat
Have any of you ever tried sno-bowl? I used it on my offshore boat and it takes up rust and everything else. Wear rubber gloves and goggles or face shield. Don't want that stuff in your eyes.

+1 I have cleaned 3 tin boats with it, works great.
Check out Collinite's web site. May have something for you. Great products.
It\'s a dog eat dog world out there and I\'m wearing milk bone underwear! \"Norm Peterson\" Cheers.
I used to have a Bass Tracker and this worked really good for me. Not sure what kind of acid it is, but you can get it in one gallon container and they use it to clean air conditioners, etc (it was pink). Anyway, I diluted it 3:1 and sprayed it on my boat. The aluminum would turn white. After it was rinsed and let dry, I would simply take some aluminum polish from Walmart and do it like wax, just apply and buff off...that brings the aluminum shine and color back. Folks always asked if I got a new boat![]()
