couple of tips for boat security

If you can afford $20./month (+ the $300 for initial cost), this is quite a product. It works for your boat and your children (which would be worth it even without the boat)

There may be other systems that do this as well, this just happens to be one I ran across.

Also, if you have a double axle trailer, I used to wrap a heavy duty chain (one that could not be cut with bolt cutters) in between the two wheels and lock with heavy duty lock. Just a little extra protection. It'll still go down the road, but they'll be squeeling and skidding all the way, which may wake you up in time to follow them. Also, I know if I saw someone driving down the road like that, I'd be pretty suspicious and call the cops.

    Hope these might help someone.

Here is a cheap and effective solution to the problem. This works at home, at a motel or while you are in a restaurant.

Buy a cordless drive way alarm and mount it inside your boat below gunwale level where it "sees" only what is going on in the boat. Take the remote ringer into the restaurant or motel with you. If anybody gets in the boat, the alarm will sound and you can haul out your .44 Mag and do what you have to do.

Several catalogs my wife gets advertises these things for $19.99. I think the Dr Sholl and the Carol Wright Catalog has them.

Mine went off while I was in the John at McDonalds recently. My fishing buddy got in the boat to retrieve his wallet.
