In the past I've been guilty of running down my start battery by having all the lights, graphs, radio, etc drawing from the crank battery. After a long wait recently on a jump to come by (the trolling batteries were too low to crank big engine) I installed another crank battery in parallel and have never had a problem since then. Also, the alternator keeps both crank batteries fully charged. I always check them before going back out. FYI
