    Trolling motor tip

I for one, would like to cut a hole in my deck for my TM pedal, but one of the reasons I haven't is I also like the ability to adjust the angle of it to the left or right side of the boat when going down a bank from the right or left or even moved back in rougher water. The only bad thing is that the pedal gets thrown around sometimes when running down the lake. I saw a tip in a mag and it said to take the TM tie down strap and screw it onto the deck. this way you can wrap it around the base of the pedal when I get ready to move and it will not move. This solves my problem emensly and still alows me to be fexible when fishing.

    Heres a few pics...

That was the second reason that initially kept me from installing a Flat Foot. The first, obviously, was cutting the hole.

It took me about one fishing trip to completely forget about the second reason that initially kept me from installing a Flat Foot. I adjusted very quickly.

I was watching Hank Parker this weekend and I noticed his pedal was on a bracket that you could swing left or right. It looked about 18" long attached at one end and pivoted from there.

That bracket was endorsed by Hank and called the Hank Parker Quick Kick. I think it was made by Motorguide. Had one on my old boat and it worked well. They don't make it anymore and haven't for many years.

All you need is a piece of aluminum about 1/8" thick. Use a piece of cardboard to layout and adjust to fit exactly, then transfer it to the aluminum. The pivot hole fits the seat pedistal hole.

You could also install a couple of velcro strips towards each front corner of the boat.

On my old boat, I screwed down one corner of the foot pedal, and that allowed it to pivot around that corner, and still held it down for traveling.

I basically done the samething as Chris but used stainless eyelets and heavy duty bungee cord. Works great and holds footpedal in one spot.
