    Hanging spinnerbaits

    I dont know if others do this but i hang my spinnerbaits from the lip around the rodlocker........I Glued a piece of vacuum line around the top and the baits stay in that one spot and dont move the lip is tall enogh that the points of thehooks dont touch the fiberglass....I have been doing this for years the baits always stay in place and are easily accessible......

    Jayson,

    Good idea. I'm going to have to look and see if I can do something similar.

    I have done that in the past with baits that I plan to use again later in the day or am too lazy to put away. I use Cooks goto system for my SBs. It does work well.

    Re: Hanging spinnerbaits (docirv)

    Doc it looks from what I can see in the pic to be 1/4" vaccum line. Any parts store sells it by the foot, usually will cost ya $1.00 for a couple feet. I have like 8 different sizes in 50' spools, I could send ya what you need. Probably as easy to go grab some though rather then wait for it to come in the mail. But I would send it just the same

    Jason;
    I must be the only one that can't see how you have the line attached. Any chance of a close up?

    Its done with black trim adhesive....Like what you use to put on weather stripping on a automobile......it can be bought at any automotive shop..... ...Hope that helps......By the way its been on there for years and has never come off......

    Re: Hanging spinnerbaits (1outlaw)

    Jason;
    So the trim adhesive just glues the line to the inside of the weatherstripping that was there, and the hooks go between the stripping and the line?
    Thanks, Rich

    I will get you a pic tonite......Im at work and camera is at home..... ....

    It's really quiet simple.....Take a piece of vacuum line measure it to the size you need and cut........Then take trim adhesive and lay a small bead along top of rod locker or what ever compartment your using then lay the vacuum line on top of the bead it only takes a few minutes to get tacky enough to hold line in place .......Make sure the excess is removed for the most part then close the locker.......Let dry and thats it ....Start hanging......works for jigs and buzz baits too......

    Re: Hanging spinnerbaits (1outlaw)

    Heres some pics.......The best i could come up with.....

    And no the points dont ever touch the gelcoat.....The idea of the vacuum line was to keep the baits from moving and to insure they never touch the gelcoat.......

    I have been doing that for a few years now. I had an old timer show me that trick.
