    Keep Your Feet Warm!!!!!!!

OK.......I know this is a re-run of a clever tip......but it is a good one.

While you are getting dressed to fish on a cold day........spray your feet with an anti-persperant. This will decrease the sweat from your feet......and when you feet sweat......the sweat gets into your socks and then the wet socks and feet get cold and stay cold.

I used this tip a few times last winter.......and my feet NEVER got cold.........and believe me when I say they did before I heard about this tip.

I used a spray can of anti-persperant deoderant.............plus an added bonus.....your feet won't smell either........

    Smells and sounds great CE

One of the gals here at work said -- You will stay warmer if apply lotion with coco butter all over your body

So-- Maybe will test this out sometime.. Also -- "no I'm not going there"

Shy away from cotton socks as well. Nylon dress socks will not absorb moisture.

I sit in subzero temps four to six hours buckhunting. sweat is your worst enemy but so is scent. maybe Ill try some unscented.... but marino wool is the real deal on keeping your feet warm on stand. Most people want to layer their socks. This is absolutely the wrong thing to do because of perspiration. note, Marino wool does nnot make you itch...SMG

Re: Keep Your Feet Warm!!!!!!! (Smallmouthguy)

Great tip...I am definitely gonna try it. If that doesn't work for you, get a set of tastie toes from Wally world....your toes will not get cold, but I never knew how my heels got cold till I started using these things.... ....with no more cold toes, I can now feel my heels....

These things work, and do not get cool in boots like the foot factory or foot warmer things....

I never fish on cold dayw without these. They work great. I also use them in my gloves(the fingerless ones with the mitten attachement). The adhesive sticks to them and you don't have to worry about the warmers falling out.

Cool.. I haven't seen the finger ones....link or something to them? I know the toes one works great. I turn them sideways to cover all my toes (on the bottom), and amazing that no more cold toes sitting on a deer stand....and I am hunting with my leather redwing work boots most days.....they are good in those boots down to about 30 degrees for about 4 hours on a stand...after that, I am thinking maybe I should have worn some insulated boots.....

I agree w/ Smallmouthguy. A good pair of Merino wool socks is the only way to go. have worn tennis shoes with merino socks ice fishing.

Football players put vaseline on exposed body parts in real cold temperatures to keep the skin from freezing so I could see where the lotion could help.

toastie toes are good but it aggrivates me to have them in my shoes. Merino wool socks are the deal, only them no wicking socks, just one pair of merino wool socks. They will even work if your feet do happen to sweat b/c wool will insulate even when wet, unlike cotton and other fabrics.
