when i throw a "true" c-rig, it is usually with braided main line, mono or flour leader, a big weight and in deeper water 18'+ i have noticed that the braid gets a little frayed or worn right at the swivel after a while...
well a couple of weeks ago i bought some "spinner bait skirt rubber bands"... i bought a pack of 50 from BPS for @ $3 they had them in the spinner bait section near the replacement skirts..basicly it is rubber tubing pre-cut in about 1/8" peices anyway, i slide one last on the line just before tying on the swivel. It slided back and forth just fine and keeps the bead from slamming into the swivel.. everything else still "clicks" but so far it seems to be working, no more frays...
they also work for securing a trailer hook... they are pre-cut and much easier to deal with on the boat..
