Have not fished with them yet. They don't point up so vision should not be a problem (i hope). Maybe some of the other guys who have them can answer your question.

I just installed lights in my compartments( all white). Wow, what a diffrence! They are bright enough to light up your box and your deck if you need to rig something up. I installed mine facing into the box so they do not bother me at all. I had a chance to use them this weekend while camping at Smallwood state park. I found myself organizing my boxes because the lights. I still need to install my deck lights. How was it installing the lights on the deck?

Re: Finished my bluewaters on the front deck of the ranger (Marty's Bug)

Not too bad. I basically ran my wires under the rubber carpet strip next to the side of the boat up to the front pannel. I then used an extra accessory switch that was already there. It was easy wiring to the switch. Under the panel there was a circuit board with extra connections. I was able to simply get power from the board and run the hot wire to the switch with a jumper wire. Then i just plugged the hot wire from the led into the switch and ran the ground from the leds to the board. I called my boat dealer to confirm these connections and they said i did it right. It was a little tough getting the wires under the rubber strip but inch by inch was able to pry up the strip just enough to get the wires under them. Still have to do the back deck which i plan on using the accessory switch on the console for them. Also still have to do the rod lockers which should be easier.

I ran my front deck wires thru my retractable rod straps. I tapped all my compartment lights
to the original box lighting and simply twisted the wires together and neatly taped them off with electrical tape. All i gotta do now is get a few of the wires a bit organized
