i had my motor at the dock and the techs there went through everything to get the motor to run right but nothing they did worked and the last answer was that the gel seal is leaking want to know if there any way to see if this seal is bad and what can be done if bad cant get the model number id plate scratched really bad thanks for any help
Gel Seal isn't a hard gasket per se. It is used when the two halves of the crank case are put together during assembly of the motor. Has the motor been torn down recently? You would have to re-torque the upper (carb side) of the crank case bolts. Whar are the symptoms?
it started when i got the boat inthe water the gas pulp would go soft after a few minutes running and the engine would stop so the techsrebuiled the cerbs with kits they tested spark also said that there was air leaks at the throttle box the replaced gasket at throttle box .after all this they said that its the gel seal we tried new fuel lines and checked timming and and this time we cant get the engine to idle right and if we do we go into gear and the motor cuts right out
