I am trying to decide how to wire up the deck lights. I want to route the wiring from a switch on the dash to the deck LED's and hide as much wire as possible. Any suggestions out there?

It will be easier to put the switch closer to the lights, with less wire used. Tie into an existing hot wire. Switch could be on inside edge of cap. I understand the want of the switch at the console, but I think it is easier to put it closer to the light source. I will send you my pics on IM

Just remeber too that less connections means less chance of problems going forward.
Depending on the boat you should be able to run the wires through the rigging tube(s) or along an existing run of wires. The biggest challenge is usually getting the wires from the port side to the starboard side. 2 solutions for this.....One is to ome through the center hatch to cross the wires through the boat. The other option is to run the wires up to the bow and then down the other side.
Putting the switch at the console will def be a lot more work, but in my humble opinion, a better way to go. The difficulty will have A LOT to do with what brand and model of boat you have. If it is a Ranger, it can be a pain, all that foam that "keeps 'em floating" does not help when you want to run wires..... Feel free to email me directly if you would like and I will see what I can do to help you get squared away.....
Very well said Mark!
