Yes, but I have a couple of questions first. One, are they on a timer? What I mean is do they shut off automatically or do you switch them on and off? Two, How are they wired? Can you splice right into the existing wiring? If the answer is yes, then youo can easily add leds. Once you do, you will want to get rid of those ropes.
They are wired into the "courtesy lights" switch. I believe they are wired individually, and could be spliced in. But, from what it looks like, the rope lighting is a continuos rope that runs through the front compartments. I'll have to take a better look today.
Do you think if i were to put an LED strip behind my windsheild, it would light the whole windsheild up, making it appear to be glowing?

Depending on how you place it that willl look really cool. I thought about doing that behind mine too.
Are you thinking one of your new livewell lights angled upwards from the bottom?

Possibly. I have all blue on my own boat and I don't have them in blue yet but I will eventually do a run in blue.
