    98 evinrude check engine light

    i just boght a 1998 lowe with a 98 40hp evinrude (serial and model #'s coming soon) and i bought the service manual and it said that my check engine light isnt even hooked up on 70hp and lower models. the motor runs fine. the light is on all the time and i have no idea what it is!! help would be greatly appriciated thanks
