    General Dash wiring question

I just recently replaced the gauges on my 95' Ranger 354v w 150 Faststrike.

Now, I just lost my tach and I believe it is a power issue. One of the previous owners looks like they did alot of rewiring under the dash. My question, it looks like they started on the right with the fuel guages and placed power there then pigtailed from each gauge working there way over to the next guage to obtain power. That doesn't seem right? Is that proper? I was thinking of placing a new terminal block under there and putting power individually to each guage.

    Any comments appreciated.

Re: General Dash wiring question (anderdw2)

You could do that, most boat builders "daisy chain" the positive leads off the main power switch for the switches and other gagues. The tach should get its power from the control box wiring harness. There should be a 3 wire pig tail that connects to the tach the wires are purple +12 volts to activate the tach when the key is turned on, a black for ground and then the gray wire for the signal. The trim gauge will have its own harness not tied into the boats.
