93 Evinrude Vindicator cylinder question ?

93 Vindicator VE200SLETF G03290181 I would like to know the cylinder numbers looking at the motor from the rear and how to match the carbs to the cylinders looking from the front. Re-building the carbs. and I want to make sure #2 gets the bigger jet. Thanks and stay cool ! Joe

From the rear of the engine #2 cylinder is top left, looking from the front of the engine the #2 carb is top left.

Keep in mind that the F suffix was the first year for the adjustable idle jets. Do one carb at a time.

Why do you want to put a larger jet in one cyl? because you found it running lean, spark plug analysis? A clogged recirc system in these big loopers can make a certain cyl run lean!! Service manual has a great schematic and checks for this. This is easier done with carbs off of motor. Have fun.

This is an old trick on the closed deck loopers Dave. It is a two part fix to help keep #2 piston from loosing a locator pin and blowing #2. The first part is to go two sizes larger on the HS orifice on #2 to cool it with more fuel the second part is to replace the smooth drain plugs in the carb bowls with the new style drain plugs that have a "tit" on the ends. The new style drain plugs secure the HS jets in their seat to prevent them from backing out and causing a lean out condition.
