    Removing boat from trailer

I need to do some major body work on my trailer and was wondering if I could remove the boat by doing the following.
(This i know will work) placing a 6 by 6 board under the stern of the boat and jack it up off the trailer.

(This part im not so sure of) I own two VERY HEAVY DUTY steel saw horses that could no doubt hold a semi's weight. I also have truckers chain from harbor freight. I was wondering if I could attach the chain from the saw horses on each side to the bow mounting ring (i call it the nose ring..not sure what its called) would the ring pull out....

    Thanks in advance Spencer

I don't believe the bow-eye will pull out. BUT, if you are talking about having your saw horses to the sides of the boat, I think side loading the weight on them like that will cause them to tip over. I wouldn't do it.

Use a RIGID support for the bow. I used two ten foot 2x6's deck screwed together placed on edge behind the bow eye (make sure the bow eye is in good shape and attached properly). Once the trailer was out from under the boat I supported them in the center for peace of mind. Worked out fine.
