I have a 1988 Astroglass 195v that is blue and siilver, just wondering, ive asked around and ive found out that putting on new gelcoat is a pretty bif undertaking. So what else can i do to restore the shine to the boat. Im wanting it to look as good as possible, because im wanting to sell it. Im trying to work my way up to a 20ft ranger or skeeter.

You can water sand the gell coat with 1000 grit sandpaper, then 2000 and then buff it and it will bring the shine back out. I've done it many times

impossible to tell w/out pics,,,what is needed depends upon the severity of the current gel.,,,,,,,,,,,, just faded ? orange peel feeling? can u feel the metal flake with your fingers?
