Purchase some resin to do some floor work on my boat followed the directions on the can but resin harden before I could use it. The temp outside was 65-70 which will drop into the 40s later tonight. Any info on how to use resin is helpful.

reduce the amount of hardener so its doesnt kick(set up) as quick
allowing you more time to work it. Make sure you have everything
layed out first so you know exactly how your going to do the repair.
How much are you mixing up at a time? Doesn't take it long to start to kick. It's also going to depend on the brand and type of resin youve got... Some dry and cure faster than others. You can try to mix less hardener in don't go to much less or it may never fully cure but you can slow it down quite a bit by not using quite so much.
what kind of resin type really determins pot life. also any idea how fresh of a batch it is? does it look old. lastly are you positive you mixed it to the proper ratio....also some resins are quick set look for little details on the can that will tell you why that was happening i miss read a can of polyester resin and added to much hardner not only did it set up to quick but exothermed melting the cup![]()
I like the West Marine resin system where you got easy to use pumps for resin and hardener. One pump of resin and one pump of hardener and your ratio is always perfect. Not the cheapest stuff but works great.
