Anybody know if marine carpet is that much better than regular carpet? If so how much longer will it last?

I have used outdoor carpet ( from Home depot ) on my bunks about 10 years ago and it is just starting to come apart and needs replaced again. I have found it last about as long as the boards. Hope this helps.
Just did all my trailer last week. Got everything at Lowes for around $60.00.![]()
What did you use? All of the indoor/outdoor carpet I've seen is 6oz carpet.

I used indoor/outdoor carpet. So far so good...
I redid my bunks this summer..........used the indoor/outdoor carpet runner from Lowe's.
Reason I used this - is because in order to have the carpet run the correct way on the bunks, I'd have had to buy like triple the amount I needed to do them. This way - with the carpet runner, I was able to get (2) bunks out of each 10' piece of runner. worked nice, and didn't have a huge roll of carpet to lug around either.

Marine carpet is a little denser and a tighter knit. I bought mine from Cabela's and it came in two different widths...very convenient for replacing carpet on bunks.
