best way to depressurize trim pump?????
Picked up an 84 Ranger 372V last week, starting to derig the blown 83 Merc 150 off of it to install my Johnson 150. Controls, control box, control cables, etc are out. I'm to the point now of needing to depressurize the hydraulic trim pump. What is the best way to depressurize it? I was thinking of just cracking open the 2 fitting on the hoses that come up to the ram, but figured there has to be a better way?

Well I cracked the lines and bleed it down this afternoon. All went well, trim pump has been removed from bilge area and bolts are cracked loose for the motor hanging on the transom. I'm "degreasing" and cleaning the bilge area now. WOW that was nasty in there under the batts. Defin looking better but gotta pick up another bottle of degreaser and finish it up. Won't be long I'll be hanging the jackplate and putting the 150 Johnson Faststrike on it. :)
