Sprint Restoration

I have a 91 Sprint and the gelcoat is heavily oxidized. I have buffed the oxidation out several times and have had it looking brand new. However, after while the oxidation just keeps coming back. I am fed up with it and I am planning on putting a new clear coat. I talked to the paint sales rep at one of our local custom body shops. He says that he has put several clear coats on boats in the past and has good success. I bought the clear coat that he reccomended and the hardner that comes with it. The clear coat is shop line jc660. I have somebody that is going to spray it for me I just have to do all the prep work. Other than wet sanding, cleaning it up real good, and taping everything off is there any other prep work I need to do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If it is a automotive clearcoat, most guys here will advise against it. I believe there is one person here who has used auto clear and swears they can make it work. Generally the automotive clear will peel in 4-5 years.

This clear coat is a two component acrylic urethane spot and panel clear coat. The hardner that he reccomended is a medium topcoat hardener. Is this gonna work or am I just gonna waste my time?
