I have a 1999 johnson 225 ho

When i get to my secert fishing spot and shut down for ah hour or so. The motor will start straight up but once i go in gear it wont go past 1200 rpm before it shut off. But it start right up and it do that a few times before it get going. I change out the primer bulb and some hoses. Could it be the fuel pump.

Try hitting the choke when you accellerate and see if that helps. Hot temps, lousy fuel and a hot engine don't help matters.
