Re-do Seats or just buy new ones?

I am re-carpeting and then looking to either re-upholster or just buy new seats for my 97 Skeeter. Any thoughts? Also, anyone have a good resource for aftermarket seats?

Here are the ones I want to get redone.

got some rips and tears....and they are black....HOT!. My other problem is that below the passenger seat is a cooler and driver seat is storage...so I don't know if anyone makes a skeeter type bench?

I have the same boat / same color seats and the black does get hot. Looked at seats from the boatingseats.com but their seat (base and back) is one unit and folds forward, not just the bottom. I don’t know how hard it would be to modify their bracket but that might be an option. Llebroc (www.llebroc.com) has some great looking seats but they are $$$. I decided to have mine re-done in black w/blue inset as soon as I can.

those llebroc seats are pretty sweet! but pricey! at least that gives me some reference on $amounts vs. getting them re-upholstered. I will probably go the re-upholstered route just because I'm skeptical on the fit.

I am going to change out the carpet too...what color do you think based on the boat colors? I like a gunmetal gray....or something similiar.

Gunmetal would work or even a slightly darker gray like ash from Bass Cat Boats: http://www.basscatstore.com/hi....aspx would look good.

Take pleanty of pictures so I know how to do mine when its time!

get the boat seat store seats. They can be mounted with the back and bottom seperate as a few guys here have done this or just mount the bottom of the seat and have whole seat flip forward

I got quotes for getting my seats re-upholstered and i could buy new Champion OEM seats from Deans for the same price. I decided to go with the newer OEM style Champion seats from Llebroc. Around $300 more but they are awesome. See if you can find out who made your OEM seats and contact them.
