HELP motor hp limit

hi i really need help i have a 19 foot 87 200 dv hydrasport with a 8 foot wide beem the boat is very wide for its length the beam you usually see on a 21 foot triton or something any way ive always seen people that have these boats with 200s i want a 225 will it legally go on there according to the coast gaurd standard stuff? hahaha mine doesnt have the tag you would think the wider the boat i could put a 225 on right tell me why not or if i can PLEASE!!!!!

if its a newer one and the weight is less prob wouldnt exactly be an issue,, but thing is all the insurance mumbo jumbo if there was an accident.Im pretty sure it was a 200 hp limit on that boat but could prob ask todd or a few guys in the hydra forum that might have a cg plate they can look at for you

Go with a 200HO Evinrude, you'll get the L2 lower unit as well.

These guys are right...i had one. The max per the Coast guard plate is 200hp.
