1988 Champ 201 Resurrection! (over the next 12 months or less, hopefully)

Here's what she looks like now, and over the course of the next year (God willing) I'll be able to turn the "Blue Turd" into something that Dad can be really proud of. More to follow as time goes on....

    More to come soon....

Solid as a rock! Looks bad right now, but it's been in my uncles garage for 2 years. Structurally sound, great motor on the back already. It's just dirty. Really shines underneath and will require a lot of labor. Seats/carpet and some electronics and should have a nice boat.

totalbeverage, are you the Bass Cat man? I have studied your restorations quite frequently. What I wouldn't give to have your setup! I'm trying to figure out how to get the boat off the trailer so I can line-x the trailer and really polish the entire boat in one shot. I don't have access to any heavy artillery other than a forklift. Recommendations on really bringing the life back out of the gel coat??? More to come!

All the hardware has been disassembled, cleaned and sorted down to every last screw or bolt from the Champ. Hopefully within the next week or so I'll have the sanding started to brighten the old guy up. Pics coming...

I'm hopeful it will be! Can't wait to get it all completed and see what funds in the future will be available for a re-power! Uncle Kendall thinks his lil Champ is untouchable, going to need big horsepower to keep up with him!

If you have a forklift then all you need is a engine lift for the front. Grab a couple of straps and get it in the air! Just read though Basscat7 post at the top of the page and it will walk you though the process on the gel coat. Good luck
