Does anybody have any tips on how to make 10 year old carpet soften back up again? The problenm is where I stand all day on the trolling motor the carpet is just mashed flat. It looks fine but I just want it to fluffen up again.

Replace it. 10 years is good life in marine carpet. Your feet and back will thank you.
I've never tried it, but I have read on here where many guys power wash, then follow that with 50/50 vinegar/water mix and scrub into the fibers with a tire brush. After rinsing and drying, they follow that with 50/50 water/Downey (or other liquid fabric softener) with the brush. Apparently when that dries, it is soft and fluffy just like you are wanting! Like I said, I have never done it, but have read it multiple times here on this site.
