    Painting Battery Trays

I had to replace a battery and though since I had everything out it would be a good time to claen up my trays.

It appears the originals were primed in a white then top coated in black. Anybody know what kind of paint they used that is resistant to battery acid. I'm guessing good old rust oleum would peel off as soon as it got a mist for recharging.

    some were cheap powder coatings.
if you want to re do, start with a self etching primer and then coat with vehicle undercoating...........

I would suggest replacing the metal trays with plastic trays and hold downs. They work great, are light weight and chemical resistant. West Marine and other national chains carry them.
