Can someone tell me what the differences are between marine grade plywood & wolmanized plywood? I am beginning a restoration of a 87 Tracker V 17 & need to buy the plywood for the floor & decks, what works better?
thanks

From doing a quick Google check, wolmanized ply is pressure treated. Ply wood used in your boat should be resin coated for water protection. I don't believe resin will adhere to pressure treated lumber. I don't think the pressure treated ply would be your best bet.

marine grade is free of voids and hollow areas
wolmanized is all briused up wearing sun glasses telling its friends it ran into a door
marine grade coated in resin
We buy Marine plywood and send it to the Hoover treating plant in Pine Bluff AR. They pressure treat it "CCA" and then kiln dry it so that only the copper and arsenic are left in it. When we use it in stringers or floors we coat it with resin to keep it from soaking up water but it is guaranteed not to rot for life whether it gets wet or not.
My thoughts good plywood (finished) doesn't seem to suck the resin up as well as cheaper stuff. As long as you resin it well it shouldn't matter what kind of wood you use. Wolminized is for outside use but hard to work with when it dries it warps also. I use middle of the line 1/2" and resin it good and have had no issues so far. GL JimC
I went with the 3/4" marine grade plywood, needed 3 sheets to do the floor & the decks, $ 95.00 per sheet, yikes!![]()
