    changing aerator pumps

the housing of one of my aerator pumps is cracked on the bottom so I have decided to take on this project myself. I plan on changing out both of them, possibly upgrading to a little larger. I believe mine in there right now are only 500gph. I guess I was just wondering how difficult this might be? I have pretty good access to them. I just don't really know quite the best procedure for taking these things out and was wondering if anyone had some good suggestions for the least hassle free way. Thanks, I'm attaching some pics so you can see what mine look like from my access area.

Most likely they are 500gph. You can upgrade them to 750gph. it draws a little more amperage but not a battery killer....

It's not hard but take your time and work slow as the plastic becomes brittle and tends to break if you go in there like a bull in a china shop. Now is a good time to add pumpouts to your livewwell if you wanted too.
    Good luck,

well I got them out and sure enough I broke one of the fittings that goes through my livewell from the hose off the pump. I looked for one @ bass pro but they didn't have that particular piece. it's the fitting like the white one in the top left of the first picture. it also has a small hose that comes into the top of the fitting. what is this for?venting? and what is the best silicone to use for resealing? how hard is the pump out to do?

I would love to see pictures on how you can tie a pumpout in without drilling any extra holes. Could you tap it into the bilge pumpout hose or do you have to drill a hole in the cap for the water to pump out?
I would like to do this with mine.
    Thanks
