Ok, might be a stupid question but how do you take off the handles/latches on all the storage and locker compartments when re carpeting a boat.
Im trying one see if I can do it and already stumped on this part. Its a 96 ranger 481vs. I tried unscrewing the bottom part and it fell all apart but still the main part is still there.
I know its probably something simple but could someone help a bit!

Pretty sure they are d handles. I can get a pic if needed. Im just dumbfounded here! lol I took it apart from the inside but the base is still on both sides
Did you try tapping them out from the bottom of the lid with a hammer? The original latches on my 86 Ranger needed a little tap to get them out. The hole they drilled in the lid for them was tight. Hope this helps ya out
my 92 374V has the ranger factory handles on it, and they screwed in between the top of the latch and the bottom...
