    Trailer Fender Removal/Upgrade

I have an early 90's Skeeter, with matching trailer. I believe the fenders on my trailer are welded into the frame of the trailer if I remember correctly, I could be wrong. One of my fenders when the boat was purchased, has some damage to the fender. If they are infact part of the trailer and cannot remove the fender itself and replace with a new one, is there any fix for this? I see on the new trailers they have the molded painted fenders, unfortunatly I cannot remove mine as it is all attached, from what I can remember, but I could be wrong. Do they make any type of molded fender that can be installed over the fender? It's a fender with a 2 foot or so step behind the wheel well and small angled step in front of the wheel well. Not sure if they make something like this that would install over the old fender. Thought I would inquire. I can post a picture later. Any input would be helpful, I would think that the step and fender are bolted to the trailer with bracket underneath that can be removed but I never checked.

Mine are welded as well. You would have to grind the weld off to remove the old one. The molded ones that you've seen are fiberglass and as for as I know, I've never seen one that would bolt over a steel fender.

Wish I could fix the small dings int he fender without removing. Not a fan of grinding out the weld and re-welding.

Grind the welds off the old fender / bracing:

..... and bolt the new fender to the braces:

Thanks Larry. Kinda' like it myself. Trailer "makeover" was work but well worth it.
