Last Sunday my "stitching" for lack of the proper word, came off the bottom on my seat. Thus the foam and seat cover are now loose. It's an 88 so I'm guessing dryrot. Do I order the new "trim" piece to re-attach?

You could take it to a local car interior restoration place or you could just look on ebay for a new one. If you can find a match, it would be pretty inexpensive.
I agree on trying the upholstery shop first, I just ordered a new one from Ranger $85.+ship. Kind of high but an exact copy of my old one.
1987 Ranger 373V 150 Yamaha proV still going strong.
85 bucks not too bad. I'll try the fix first.
