    Another boat polishing project.

I started today polishing the top side. It is black and red with silver flake. I am using 3m polishing compound. Just doing a little at a time. Here are some pics.
I have learned everything from here thanks for everyone that has posted before on how to do this.

Looks great man!! I just started on my '93 Wildfire last week...with instructions from Basscat7... excellent...I have been wet sanding a couple hours a day, a little at a time and the results are amazing, it takes a little while to get the "micropitting" out and mine was/is heavily oxidized and had been sprayed with urethane on top of that, but it's coming out like glass ..it's an old boat but it's new to me...currently it's in the 100's here in Houston so I imagine it will be a few weeks at least before I'm done!! Keep up the good work!!

    Fish on!!

I havn't read anywhere that you would take off the bump rail. Do you polish down to it and do the rest by hand or take the rail off? I have heard that if you do take the rail off you will never get it back the same way. What do ya'll think?

I just did my ChampioN and I taped up the rub rail with masking tape to keep from burning it. I think I got around it very well. THe rub rail should go back okay if you want to get under it. Mine is riveted on although some are screwed on. I think where you would run into problems are if you replace it entirely and try to go back in the same holes.

Its amazing what you can do with a little elbow grease.
