    What's next for Evinrude?

Since the YamahaSHO four stroke is gaining market acceptance with their four stroke motors what does Evinrude have coming out? Are they staying the course with two strokes or are they going to respond with four stroke technology similar to Yamaha's VmaxSHO? I am getting a VmaxSHO soon on my next boat but it will not be my last boat. I always have like Etecs and had one in the past. What up with future product releases from Evinrude?

As you saw with the SHO it had been in development for years and field tested, not many outside the inner circle knew about it. BRP doesn't rest on its laurels and constantly improving their technology, internal stuff from BRP is way above my pay scale and right/need to know. But rumor has they are working on some exciting stuff.

Check out the Bombardier Jet Boat technology. Super Charged 4 strokes are nothing new to the BRP. As long as the Etecs are fuel efficeient with the current EPA technology you can expect to see them for a while. Expect Honda to be the next with a whammy new 4 stroke. They have been pretty quiet the last few years so you know they have been working quietly in the back of the shop with the next best thing.

I know that brp makes a really fast and the best handling atv on the market and has been for several years now, and honda is at least 10 years behind in there atv's compared to all the rest,so the know how is there if they choose to put it in production.I have no experience with BRPs snow mobiles but have read they are one of the best.

I don't have any worries about Evinrude and their ETEC's. They are at the top of the 2-stroke foodchain as it is.

Maybe an ETEC DI 4-stroke in a V8?

You got that right. It's a great motor and I loved my 150HO. Just checking on my blue blood roots.
