What is this called and where can I get some?

I'm redoing the carpet on my boat. Upon pulling up the carpet I noticed the white hard stuff along the floor of the boat. I guess it is there to connect or bond parts of the boat. It has been there since the boat was made and I'd like to put another coat over it before I lay the new carpet down to reinforce it. I was hoping someone could tell me what the white stuff is called and where I would be able to get some. I've added a picture to show explain what I am talking about. Thanks for the help!

Not completely sure but that looks like Marinetex. I am thinking this is the name. It is a bondo type substance used for marine applications. It is a very dependable substance is used correctly.

I'm pretty sure it is not MarineTex. I was hoping someone could tell me what it was. As you can see in the corners it has warn down over time, I just want to put an additional layer over it before laying down the new carpet

I don't have a good pic but your close when ya say a bondo type material. I believe it is a resin and filler mixture that turns into a puddy and it is used as a filler to fill gaps and is sandable for a flat floor..

My stringers on my CC were set in this and it was also over screw holes and around where my floor hit the side of the hull..

Kinda new at this boat rebuilding my self

Its either epoxy mixed with cab-o-sil or micro bubbles, or polyester resin mixed with cab-o-sil, most likely polyester resin with cab-o-sil mixed in to a soft paste like consistency spread on with a putty knife.
You will need temp of 60 + to do it, mix in half pint batches , add 1/8oz harder to a half pint for temps 60-70 above 70-85 1/16 oz per half pint .. you will have 15 mins to stir in hardener and cab-o-sil and apply it before it starts to harden.

Will be ready to cover with carpet in 4-6hrs if yo keep the temp at above 60 the whole time
I fish There for I am

I love the smell of two strokes, and polyester resin

Looks like " mush " LOL....that was the technical term for it in glass shops.

Northrivergeek has it, can be resin and chopped fibers or resin and cabosil .......mixed to form a mush type putty... then catalyzed when needed and used to fill in gaps and hard to reach small spaces in glasswork.

it more than likely marine putty it is shot out of a gun with about a 3 foot mixer wand and catalized as it comes thru the mixer..basically a marine bondo used for bonding and floor leveling.................... if it was cab o sil and resin it would be cracked in that area that thick badly.....

There lies the problem-"fill the cracks"-It's most likely a marine bonding/filler(available at west marine, and most fiberglass supply stores),used to level the deck to floor joint. No real strength, but makes carpet look good.It would be my best quess that the floor is already giving and causing the cracking in filler. If not the case, smooth out,add glass and resin as a barrier coat between fillers and carpet! Good luck!
