1994 400 Series Ranger Dash Panel Replacement

I contacted Ranger to get a replacement black dash panel insert and was told they no longer sell them. Does anyone know what the original material was made of? I am adding some gauges and need to change the layout of the existing gauges. Suggestions would be appreciated I would like to maintain the same look and material.

I have the console in the first picture the dash panel is rectanglular. The material is black but is beveled at the screw holes revealing some white at the bevel. I was thinking it was the same material that is used to make engraved name plates possibly. Maybe I should ask at a trophy shop or sign maker.

It most likely is the sign material, you can get sign plastic in wood grains, and anything your heart desires.

here is link to Rowmark the biggest manufacturer of the sign material http://www.rowmark.com/rotary/...s.asp

They dont sell directly but they have links to local suppliers, I use their products at work, I make the tags for our resistance welders we make, air , valves, etc etc out of it.
And I also make a tag or two for my self lol sshhh the trophy shops will or can get what you want but your better off to get a sheet from their local supplier available on Rowmark's web site

I'd use good counter top laminate. It'll work, just mimic the design and glue it on to the the existing panel for the strength. Get a good quality one that is UV resistant. I looked at sign material but IMO it wouldn't hold up for 5 years of abuse in the sun like a good laminate will. It may be a little cheaper but in a few years you'll just be as disgusted again and then to redo it will be a pain in the a$$. Plus the laminate is made for this abuse of wetness and UV rays. Just be patient and you can get the shape and contours out of it with a good sharp knife.

Actually the sign material is what is used on many boats, they have many that have a good UV protection,

Mine looked like painted 1/8 inch thick masonite. I could be wrong.
