Removing rails and flushmount rod holders to polish...

I have my buffer and am getting my 3M products soon (compound and glaze) and can't wait to get started... I do have a question about my rails and rod holders on the top cap: I felt the underneath the rails and it feels like they are self tapping screws. I didn't feel any nuts or washers under there. If I take them off to do my work, will the snug up when I put them back on, or will they be loose now?

I would have to think that area is reinforced and they are just screwed down and as long as they are tight now they will re tighten later.. A little silicone on the treads when reattaching won't hurt either

I left mine on. It's a small area and can be done by hand. My rails and mounts are tight and snug...I want to make sure they stay that way.

The grab rails on my Skeeter have integrated studs and are secured under the cap with nylon nuts.
