My guess is, you will have to cut them out with a wheel.

This is a sticky subject. BECAREFUL when you cut them out. YOu don't want to see daylight through your hull! You may laugh now... but you don't know how many people bring me boats that they've cut all the way through...
So just FYI: go slowly!
thanks Michael will do ill grab some cut off wheels and grinding discs
thew stringers look to be laid directly to the hull ,is this how they go back ive read somewhere about hard spots causing cracking etc etc should I bed them in some cabosil first
A nifty trick I picked up when removing my stringers was to use a scraper (not a putty knife) or a wood chisel - something with a strong, wide and sharp edge - and a hammer to cut through the fiberglass. If you carefully work the joint between the stringer and hull by tapping the scraper/chisel through the layers of fiberglass you might be able to remove the stringers with no cutting required. This process actually works amazingly well to cut the fiberglass out. Give it a shot.
