Brandon, it is somewhat dependent upon the size of the area that you want to cover, but I normally don't mix up more than I can't use in 15 minutes. It is better to error on the side of mixing too little, as you can always mix more to finish the job, but once it starts to harden in the cup, you are hosed.

Normally, I will mix up approx. 6-8 oz. at a time, if I have enough area to use it. The best way I found to measure, without getting too fancy, is to find some type of small, see through or semi see through bottle. Measure with a ruler to get your 3:1 ratio. I normally put multiple marks on each bottle, so I can use either set of marks, depending upon how much I want to mix-up. So, if you mark your bottle at at 1", the other mark should be at .75". Dump in .75" of resin and .25" of hardner and stir it up good. I normally just buy some cheap paint brushes (1.5", 3", depending on the job). You can toss them after each use or clean them in acetone. I normally clean mine about 3-4 times, then toss them.

Do you plan on using any cloth on your repairs?

Good luck and keep asking questions as they come up....

Brandon, if you are trying to bond surfaces together that overlap, I normally try to use cloth. It assures I have a watertight connection between the two pieces.

I assume you are replacing your transom? If you are bonding a couple of pieces of plywood together to slide into the transom, you probably don't need to use cloth to join them. You can just put a coat of epoxy on both pieces, let them dry. Add a second coat and while it is still wet, screw the two pieces together. The only area where you might be able to use cloth, is the top of the transom, depending upon how you plan on getting the old transom out.

I have never used those pumps, so I have no experience with them. But, they should work good.
