how would you go about this..

i had planed on using mat not wooven..i have a gal of reisn and hardner 3 sq ft of mat alu pie pans to mix in and several cheap paint brushes and spreaders..i figured i would over lap the top deck about 2in..lay it in over the old glass skin..and 2 more inches over laped on the other side..brush on resin and lay in plywood...coat with resin..lay glass over..laping 2in each time..untill its close to level..then what to use as a leveler? bondo? kitty hair resin? does my method sound right..or what should i do..thanks

the first cut you see to the side are across the top of high spots..turns out to be foam under each side..had to leave it and cut closer in..resin wont stick to foam..

I would use a fairing filler to level up with west system makes some, you may can get some at a auto body shop. I used it on a boat I built it works good and also makes for a smooth surface.
