    cleaning oil spills and such

The battery area (not sure what it's call exactly) is pretty messy with what looks like spilled two-cycle oil, mixed in with a bit of dirt and such.

This is the cleaned up version. I used dawn dishing washing soap and water.

Any tips for additional cleaning agents that will not harm the boat?

SIMPLE GREEN !!! Get a Gallon of concentrate and spray it on let it soak for a bit spray again and rince with water. Might have to do it a couple of times and if you can use a high preasure nozle on your hose to rinse with. It wil come clean.

Mine was way worse and now looks new. You could use a preasure washer on low preasue with simple green also. But this stuff is safe and biodergradable.

Thanks! I will stop by the parts store one day this week and pick up a gallon.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

I agree with Simple Green. Just put the plug in the boat and fill the bilge area with a bunch of hot water and simple green and let is soak for a couple of hours. I would even drive around a little to shake it up. Then drain and rinse out with a hose. Made my bilge look brand new.
    God bless,

One of the Everstart pros I fished with several years ago would throw a bar of soap in the bilge area and leave it. The cooler always melts into the bilge and in rough water it's like a wash and spin cycle! LOL

I use stuff called "Purple Power" that you can get at most any auto parts store. It is just like "Super Clean". I spray it into the bottom of my bilge, let it sit for a while and then rinse it out through the plug drain. I do the same thing to clean my engine on my truck, Tahoe, mower, weedeater, rototiller, gas leaf blower....you name it.

If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten.
