I have a '98 E150GLECD 150HP Intruder. 2 years ago, I replaced the Prop shaft seals and then did a pressure check. It maintained pressure over night, so it should have been sealed in my mind. However, that fall the fluid was grey. (I use BRP green fluid.) I have just dealt with it replacing fluid regularly, but now want to seal it up - I hope. Going to drop the LU and replace impellar and seals on the upper LU as a starting point. 12 years old, may as well right?
Anyway, my question for the professionals. Do you put the seals in dry, or do you use gasket sealer of some sort? Any tips or tricks to making sure I do not have to drop the LU again?
Thanks in advance,
Greg
