Any issues with 2005 225 ETEC HO

I am thinking of purchasing a 2005 stratos with a 2005 225 ETEC HO and am wondering if there are any issues with this model year or what I should be concerned with.

Any info will be greatly appeciated.

Don't own a 2005 I have a 2007 and have not had any problems at all. It's the quietest motor under 1500 rpm that I have ever heard other than a 4 stroke and runs really strong. '05 was the fist year for the E-tec I think and there may have been some issues with the early motors. Good Luck

I have a 06 ETEC 225ho and I LOVE IT. No issues

As with anything used, have a trained tech go through it thoroughly and give you a printout of the motor's history that is stored inside the engine computer.

There have been a few bulletins and software upgrades on the early models so have a dealer check the serial number with the service bulletins that have come out.

I've a friend with an 05 225HO ETEC that does nothing but brag on how reliable it is.
