sons boat

[Big Bill]

picked up a fiberglass jon boat last sat. as his first boat . it is a 1960 cub craft we are the 3rd owners of it. it is in pretty good shape. the man who had it , crashed it last year while driving to the lake. it has small hole in bow and on right side, but it can be repaired. we making this a father/son project to rebuilded it. will post pics as we get going on it.

update- we are getting ready to do the glass work, picked up the supplys today. still hoping to float it in march

i hope you got epoxy resin and not polyester [boat resin]. the polyester will not give the needed bond strength on old glass.

update, trailer almost done( need to mount fenders , install runners, redo wheel bearings) We started doing the glass repairs today, installed and glassed the front floor panels and installed the wood backing to fix the hole in the right side. we both had to put this on the back burner for awhile, but I think it on the way to be done now

the only problem i have seen with older boats is the are not mirror friendly kinda pain towing them and not being able to see the boat in mirrors aint it??..

he wont have a problem, they use a tracker to pull it. the van is mine.
