The hinges on my battery compartment lid have come loose from the boat and screws won't tighten up. Any easy quick fix for this problem?

Is your boat tin or glass? If it's glass, you can poke a wooden match stick in the hole to tighten it up. Just don't over torque the screws when you put them back in.
If it's tin, you may have to put in machine screws with nuts, if you have access to the back.

It's a glass boat. I tried putting toothpicks in the holes but that did not work.
I take it you don't want to try moving the hinges or replacing the screws with the next size up. I have pulled loose screws, shot a little epoxy in the holes and reattached, holds like new.
I think that I am going to have to move the hinges. Seems that is my only choice for getting a good hold on the hinges.
Can you reglass them from the back side and drill new holes?

I don't know if this will work for your needs or not? Try putting some plastic wall anchors that match the size of the hole. Then reinstall the screws.

You could put some epoxy in the hole, let it dry, then re-drill to to the proper size. It worked for me.
