American Boat Works ...Indianola PA ever heard of them???

I have an opportunity to buy a 1982 American Boat Works V-160FF from a friend It's FibreGlass and it looks like it's in good shape except the carpets worn out! But it comes with a Trailer and a 49hp Evinrude. It has 2 fish finders a Motor Guide trolling motor,livwell 4 swivel seats. I don't have any pictures yet but I have seen the boat it's black and shows some nicks but it seems like it's in good shape. He's askin 2500.00 and I'm thinking about it because it has all the things that I will need to add to this other boat I put a deposit down on. But I have never heard of this brand also I worry about the wood it seems that boats this old often have to have the wood replaced. This boat has been kept in a garage and used maybe 4 times in the past 3 years. I could use some advice on this.

if it was sealed CORRECT when built ( the wood) it will be solid......butt thats a big if.....wood boats have been built for 100's of years..........
